Dr. Richard Trivett Company Chairman READ BIO +CLOSE BIO -Richard has been part of the leadership of AUSTREX since its early days as GRM International. This included involvement in GRM’s development and management of large-scale cattle operations in Northern Australia and growth of livestock export markets. Richard was Chairman of the Livestock Export Research and Development Committee and is current Chairman of the Australian Rural Export Animal Welfare Committee. He graduated from Veterinary Science at the University of Queensland.
Tom Slaughter CEO, AUSTREX READ BIO +CLOSE BIO -Recently appointed to the CEO position, Tom heads AUSTREX’s Global Feeder, Global Breeder and Elite Breeding businesses across Australia, New Zealand and other locations around the globe. Tom has significant experience in Asia, Europe, Russia and the Middle East which give him a strong foundation in international trade and risk management, and has previously overseen an annual export volume of over 100,000 head of high-quality breeding cattle to premium agribusiness markets. He has bachelor qualifications in Economics and Finance from the University of Queensland and places a strong focus on animal welfare and the continuous improvement of efficiency and quality across the export supply chain.
David Reed General Manager, Elite Breeding READ BIO +CLOSE BIO -David oversees the Japan F1 Wagyu feeder and dairy breeder businesses, as well as AUSTREX’s air freight business which exports cattle, sheep, milking goats and alpacas to multiple markets. He previously worked with Fairfax Media and Elders International, where he developed a strong background in agribusiness and international trade. David grew up on a mixed farming enterprise in Mid North South Australia and has qualifications in marketing through a Bachelor of Management from the University of SA.
Paul Tippett General Manager, Global Breeding NZ READ BIO +CLOSE BIO -Paul leads the AUSTREX team sourcing export livestock from New Zealand, and oversees shipping and airfreight logistics to international markets. Prior to joining AUSTREX he gained experience in dairy, sheep and beef production, and in the bloodstock industry. Paul also spent time with Landmark Global Exports across Australia and New Zealand working in cattle procurement, quarantine and as a stockman accompanying livestock on ships and aircraft. He has additional experience in sourcing cattle from both North and South America for the Chinese market.
Jodie Briggs General Manager, People & Culture READ BIO +CLOSE BIO -Jodie joined AUSTREX in 2010 and now leads human resources, recruitment and professional development for both the AgTrade parent company and its portfolio of businesses, a role covering a team of over 135 people across Australia and offshore locations. Before joining the company, Jodie had a career spanning a diverse range of people, training and development roles, and has lived and worked on pastoral properties in outback Queensland, New South Wales and the Northern Territory. Jodie holds a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology) from the University of Queensland.
